The Petaluma Leghorns took a nine-game win streak into Game 1 of the American Legion Western Regionals against the host team, Buckeye, Ariz. Just like the old “Bad News Bears,” that meant bad news for Buckeye. Petaluma defeated Buckeye, 23-5, in a shortened seven-inning game.
The Leghorns play Friday night against Colorado, a 19-4 winner over Texas.
