The World Baseball Classic is a perfect way for Commissioner Bud Selig to spread baseball throughout the world and gain international popularity. America’s pastime is no longer an Olympic sport, and the MLB as a whole is one of the most diverse sports there are.
As a way of extending baseball’s popularity, the WBC is a great opportunity for players and fans to represent their countries. For coaches trying to get their teams prepared for the upcoming season at spring training, the WBC causes quite the dilemma.
